Peter Chase

Retired Construction Expert

Peter Chase is a native of Central Maine who has devoted his life to the art and science of construction. Graduating with a Forest Engineering degree from the University of Maine, Peter’s journey began at Cianbro Construction, where he honed his skills for three years. His expertise in the OSB and Gypsum Fiber Manufacturing industry spanned over a decade, ultimately leading him to become the manager of the Louisiana Pacific OSB mill in New Limerick, Maine.

In 1989, Peter took a bold step and founded his own construction company, specializing in commercial, institutional, and upscale custom homes. His commitment to excellence and meticulous attention to detail defined his career, leaving a lasting legacy in the construction industry. Peter retired in 2022, but his influence continues to shape the foundation of Houlton Housing.

Peter Chase

Retired Construction Expert

Peter Chase is a native of Central Maine who has devoted his life to the art and science of construction. Jerry York, a Houlton native, contributes a wealth of experience in business management to the Houlton Housing team. A proud graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Business Management, Jerry has been an integral part of York’s of Houlton, the family’s new car dealership, since 1975.

Jerry is not just a business professional; he is a community advocate. Over the years, he has actively participated in various civic organizations, reflecting his commitment to the well-being of the Houlton community. Married with three children, Jerry brings a personal touch to the Houlton Housing family, emphasizing the importance of community ties in every project.

Douglas Callnan

Agricultural Industry Professional

Douglas Callnan, a long-time Houlton business professional, has been primarily focused on the agricultural industry. Born and raised in Houlton, he graduated from the University of Southern Maine as an industrial technology major. After working in Southern Maine for a few years, Doug returned to Houlton in 1980 to take over the family business, Aroostook Milling Company. Over the years, he played a key role in growing the business until 2008 when he sold part of it, retaining certain divisions now known as Agri-Cal.

With over 40 years as a local businessman, Doug has actively served on various committees and boards, showcasing his dedication to the Houlton community. Doug sees the Houlton housing project as a crucial initiative, fulfilling the need for new, affordable housing in a quiet community setting.
